One of the great things about my new house is that it came with two small garden sheds, one big enough for storing general yard gear, and the other the perfect size for a potting supply shed.
However, when I moved in last fall, there wasn’t time to properly store and organize the contents of the sheds, so everything got sort of tipped into the sheds in chaotic piles and nothing was really accessible.
Now that spring is coming and the (hopefully) deer-proof fences are (finally) up, the potting shed needed to be cleaned up and organized.
I took advantage of a sunny afternoon while the landscapers were finishing up my new kitchen patio, and I emptied everything out from the post-move disaster pile:

With the pile cleared out, I could make a plan for organizing everything. The built in shelves and tool hooks are particularly useful.

I assembled the new stand for keeping all the plant stakes and other tall narrow things from falling over and making a mess, put some risers down on the floor so there was some air flow under the bags of soil, and loaded everything back in an orderly fashion.

It turns out that black planter pot is the perfect size for sitting at the end of the shed, so very soon I’ll level it and plant a small bay tree there. And I’m still slowly moving the rest of my spare pots over from the chaos pile in the back shed, but that’s a work in progress.
Then, since it was a nice day and I have way more plants to pot than I had soil left over, I made a quick trip to one of the local garden centers and loaded up!

The weather has been pretty sketchy lately and I still need to assemble my potting table, but despite the wind chill and incoming storm, I was able to get a good start on repotting some hardy Fuchsias and Azaleas using a temporary setup.
