Earlier this year, I put a large water filter on the bathroom counter for refilling Finn’s water bowl and fountain. He was initially interested then decided it was boring, and pretty much ignored it. Until a few days ago, when he discovered how much fun it is to drink directly from the top of the filter after I’ve refilled it.
Unfortunately for Finn, the top of the filter drains into the bottom of the filter fairly quickly, and then there’s nothing for him to drink from the top.
Well, this weekend he decided he ONLY wants his water directly from the top of the filter, even after getting a freshly washed and refilled bowl and fountain.
And he was going to be stubborn about it.
Since his goal appears to be simply “top of the filter” and not “freshly poured” I decided to try putting the refill cup in the top of the fountain, where it could hold water and he could drink from it whenever he wanted
Unfortunately the tall cup is too tall for Finn to reach the water inside, and he was not pleased with the failure here.
After digging around in the stash of cups in my pantry, I was able to produce a shorter cup that I didn’t mind using for Finn’s water
Removed the impatient kitty from the sink
Then filled the new cup with water and placed it in the filter, where it was deemed acceptable!
