One of the best things about moving out to the Olympic Peninsula are all the great new places to explore. So I’ve started taking a long lunch on Friday afternoons to visit the nearby parks and beaches before wrapping up my work week.

This time it was a state park nearby with wooded trails and rocky beaches, on a wonderful early spring day.

A wide trail winds through the woods
A view of the water through the trees from partway down the trail
At the bottom of the trail, step from the woods onto a classic rocky PNW beach
It was nice to sit in the sunshine and enjoy the view of the water for a while
A few more minutes spent admiring the beauty of the beach before heading back up the trail
