The regularly unscheduled posting is temporarily interrupted as I work my way through the somewhat complicated process of attempting to buy a house. Hopefully just a few more weeks and then I can start planning the move into my very own house again, instead of dealing with another rental contract.
The potential house is cute and cozy with a lovely kitchen and great space for an office. Plus, it has pretty much a blank slate for gardening, as it’s all terraced lawn and neglected corners. So I’m already plotting to completely replace the lawn with lots of native plants, wildlife-friendly spaces, and a strolling/photography garden.
I can’t wait to do fun things like turning this neglected little corner into a lovely, shady native-plant aviary so Finn can enjoy lots of bird watching out my office window.

Meanwhile I’m taking lots of strolls around my current neighborhood to get inspiration from the neighbor’s gardens, the balance between pollinator supporting plants and plants that the deer won’t destroy is a real challenge here! But I can’t wait until I can take photos like this of happy bees in my own garden
